"Love is Gentle, Love is Kind" - A Sacred Song by Dale Hubert

Today, I received several great comments from Dale Hubert, the originator of The Flat Stanley Project. He had seen my posting of Flat Stanley's visit to Florida, which took Flat Stanley to an exciting meeting of Central Florida Presbytery (hmm, here is one of the great imponderables of the universe...can the words "exciting" and "presbytery" really be used together?) as well as to the Atlantic Ocean and the swimming pool.

As you can imagine, I was absolutely delighted to hear from Dale, whose concept of Flat Stanley has helped so many children learn about writing letters and far away places, all in a very whimsical and imaginative fashion.

Thanks, Dale, for taking the time to be in touch!

What I did not tell you is that at the same time that my Flat Stanley visitor was here (from Pueblo, Colorado), my parents had another Flat Stanley visitor from a friend in Central Pennsylvania. Mimi and Papa are active seniors (Mimi will be 82 this year and Papa will be 90). Along with their Yorkie, Teddy, they took Flat Stanley on an outing to Cranes' Roost in Altamonte Springs...

What is even more exciting, Dale sent me a link to a beautiful song he wrote for his sister's wedding, based on the Apostle Paul's great hymn to love, I Corinthians 13.

Wekiva Presbyterian Church members know that we are in the midst of a Lenten sermon series on the same passage of Scripture, right now. So it was doubly exciting to me to be able to hear Dale's song. It is a beautiful interpretation of the passage, one that really should be published by one of the great sacred music publishers. And I think it would become very popular as a musical selection for brides and grooms.

Let's hope there will be more to this story, soon!
