The Grace Notes - 25th Anniversary

On Sunday, April 22, 2012 “The Grace Notes” will be celebrating 25 years of continuous music making in Central Florida. The anniversary celebration takes place at Wekiva Presbyterian Church, PC (USA), during the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship, at which time the bells will present a selecting of music that will include processing while ringing the bells. The church is located at 211 Wekiva Springs Lane in Longwood.

English Handbell Ringing dates back to 1696. In 1987, Joan Grace founded “The Grace Notes” at Wekiva Presbyterian Church, basing it upon a similar English Handbell Choir that she had been part of in New England. The Grace Notes have been directed by Joan Grace throughout its quarter of a century. Her vision turned into a reality, thanks to dedication and devotion.

“The Grace Notes” ring five octaves of Schulmerich Handbells and three octaves of choir chimes. This group consists of twelve adults who ring at Wekiva Presbyterian Church each month during worship, as well as at weddings and various community events. The public is invited to come and join in this celebration of 25 years of inspirational ringing!
