Back in the day...advertising art was precisely that. Art. As indicated by the illustration above, created by Maxfield Parrish to promote Colorado Springs' ultimate resort. If you have a chance to look at magazines from the 1920s, many are the ads that stand out for their high quality artwork. Knowing that I have been a Parrish fan and a Broadmoor fan for years, Anne sent me her photographic interpretation of the same place, today, as seen below. The jet trails and the mountainsides are all doing their part to make the image effective...
