Day 8 - Pisa - Monday, May 1

Is it fair to say that there’s really only one reason to go to Pizza? Probably not. But the number one reason that visitors go to Pizza is to see the famous leaning tower.

Our tour group made its way to the large grassy area around the cathedral, baptistery, and tower, which is actually a Campenille. Don’t ask for whom the bells toll.

We were among a rather large group of people who were there to do this and we were doing. That is to stand at the edge of the lawn, and pose in such a way that it look like we were either holding up the tower. Or pushing down the tower. Or otherwise, doing funny things with the tower. Do you know the kind of photographs I’m talking about. And we joined in the merriment and had a number of such poses to record for posterity.

We did not tour, theater role, or the baptistery. And we did not go up the leaning tower. Although we might’ve been inclined to. Ha, ha, ha, ha ha.

After such merriment, of course we needed to refresh ourselves. So we found a restaurant nearby and had lunch. After that we were together with our tour group again, and make our way onward.
